About Me

Hello! My name is Jen.

After the recent arrival of child number three my seven hats are temporarily back on the hat stand although I'm still taking on the odd bit of work here and there.  I'll update this when I'm back up to full speed but in the meantime...

Originally from London I moved to Sydney when I was 24 and had an amazing decade living in Bondi and working in the CBD before swapping beach for bay when I moved to Five Dock in 2014.

For the first part of my Australian career I worked as a Personal Assistant for a large financial corporation. Here I obtained a Diploma in Business and learnt a great deal about the processes and structures of large companies. The majority of the last decade was then spent working for a boutique graphic design college as it transitioned from being a national entity with three Australian campuses to an international one with campuses in London, Manchester and New York. I originally trained there as a graphic designer before being head hunted for a role at the college in 2007. Here I worked as the Studio Manager, Marketing Manager and Project Manager and was used to juggling hats every day. One minute I would be focussing on getting new business as potential students made their enquiries and the next I could be sorting out an issue with the air con in Brisbane. Or I could be advising our CEO as we worked on our international marketing strategy before needing to file away the most recent enrolment forms.

I know how necessary it is wear multiple hats each and every day and that's no different now that I have a company of my own. I also understand that small businesses don't always have the budget or consistent workload to employ staff on a permanent basis. What I offer is some much needed temporary breathing space so that you can focus on other things as and when you need to with no commitments to ongoing contracts.

I pride myself in being professional, trustworthy and competent. A little left field which helps me to find creative solutions to the various challenges you may be facing. Above all else I'm a jolly nice person to have around for an hour or two (and I've been told I make a pretty amazing cup of tea).

I like to blend my skill set and experience with my passion for community and my mission is to help other small, local businesses flourish. As a way of helping small local businesses, as well as my local community, I created the Five Dock Families Facebook group which is open to anyone who lives, works, studies or has strong connections to the 2046 postcode. Here I allow small, local businesses and cottage industries to advertise to a very targeted audience twice a month, free of charge.
